Dr. Stefan Couperus is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen’s Faculty of Arts, affiliated with the Department of European Politics and Society. His research bridges modern political/social history with social sciences, focusing on Western Europe’s political and urban history, democratic innovation, and governance discourses. He holds editorial roles at journals like Journal of Applied History and contributes to the Research School for Political History.
