Stanley J. Phillips is a Lecturer in the Department of Social Work at Saint Martin's University, where he has taught since 2017. He previously served as an Adjunct Professor and has over two decades of clinical experience in victim advocacy. Phillips holds an M.S. in Psychology from California Coast University (2004) and a B.A. in Community Services from Saint Martin's University (2000, summa cum laude), with additional certifications in Victim-Offender Dialogue Facilitation (2023) and National Victim Assistance Academy (2001).
His research and teaching focus on victimology, restorative justice, and practical social work skills for crime victims. He developed the university's first accredited course on 'Working with Crime Victims' and supervises BSW students in field placements. Phillips is actively involved in multidisciplinary initiatives like the Thurston County Child Justice and Advocacy Center and has contributed to state-level policy through roles on the WA Vinelink Governance Board and Address Confidentiality Program Advisory Council.
