Stanley H Ambrose is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He holds affiliations with the Center for African Studies, Center for Global Studies, Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, and Earth Science and Environmental Change. His research focuses on Africa, Archaeology, Modern Human Origins, and related fields.
Education: PhD in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley (1984), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA (1984-85). Teaching includes courses on African Prehistory, Lithic Technology, and Archaeometry.
