Stanley Greenstein is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Information Technology at Stockholm University's Department of Law, where he has worked since 2006. He was awarded an LL.D. in Law and Information Technology from Stockholm University in 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, along with a Master's degree in Law and IT from Stockholm University. As Chairman of the Swedish Law and Informatics Research Institute (IRI), he plays a pivotal role in shaping discourse at the intersection of law and technology.
His research focuses on predictive modeling's impact on personal autonomy, examining legal frameworks like the GDPR and ECHR. He teaches the undergraduate course 'rättsinformatik' (legal informatics) and directs the optional course Law and Information Communication Technology (ICT), while supervising theses and participating in conferences. Greenstein also contributes to governance as a board member of The Trust for Legal Information (Stiftelsen för Rättsinformation) and through the Swedish Society for IT and Law (Siju) election committee.
