Stacie McCormick is an Associate Professor of English, Chair of Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, and Chair of Women & Gender Studies at Texas Christian University (TCU). She holds a Ph.D. in English from The Graduate Center CUNY (2011), an MA from the University of Southern Mississippi (2003), and a BS in English Education from Mississippi State University (1999). Her interdisciplinary work bridges literary studies with critical race theory and gender studies, focusing on Black expressive culture, performance studies, and body politics.

Her monograph Staging Black Fugitivity (2019) examines contemporary Black drama’s engagement with slavery narratives. Current projects include Notes on Creating Livable Futures, addressing obstetric racism and medical inequities. She co-edited the College Literature special issue on Toni Morrison’s adaptation legacy, showcasing her leadership in critical race scholarship.
