Stacey Thompson is a Lecturer in the Department of History, Anthropology and Philosophy at Augusta University, affiliated with the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She holds a BA in Studio Art and BS in Anthropology from the College of Charleston (2003), an MA in Anthropology and Museum Studies from George Washington University (2008), and is pursuing an MBA at the University of South Carolina.

Her research focuses on museum administration, interactive exhibition design, and the intersection of history with material culture. She has extensive professional experience at institutions like The American Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian National Anthropological Archives, and currently serves as Director of the Guard House Museum. Her published work addresses budget tourism culture and the history of Greenwood, South Carolina.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in anthropology, museum studies, and honors programs. She oversees museum management and leadership training through internships and experiential learning programs.
