Stacey McDowell is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick. Her work bridges eighteenth- and nineteenth-century literature with interdisciplinary inquiries into poetry, philosophy, and sensory studies. Prior to Warwick, she held academic positions at the University of Cambridge and the University of Bristol.
- Research Focus: Romantic literature, gender and sexuality studies, pedagogy, and literary education.
- Current Projects: A monograph Reading Sympathy in Romantic Literature (forthcoming, CUP) and a scholarly edition of The Complete Poems of John Keats for the Longman Annotated English Poets series.
Publications highlight her expertise in Romantic/Victorian poetry, with recent contributions on Keats, Wordsworth, and intersections of habit and emotion in literary contexts. Her teaching encompasses Romantic & Victorian Poetry and Eighteenth-Century Literature modules. She also engages in outreach initiatives, delivering literature programs in schools and prisons.
