معرفی
Stacey Ellery is an NHMRC Peter Doherty Early Career Research Fellow and Adjunct Research Fellow in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Monash Health, affiliated with Monash University’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. Her research focuses on maternal-fetal energy homeostasis, placentology, and nutritional interventions to improve pregnancy outcomes.
Education:
- PhD in Obstetrics, The Ritchie Centre, Monash University (2015)
- BBioMedSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, Deakin University (2010)
Her research interests center on fetal physiology, particularly the role of creatine in protecting against birth asphyxia and fetal growth restriction. She investigates how maternal diet and creatine availability influence outcomes in high-risk pregnancies, including those complicated by preeclampsia and preterm birth. Her work integrates clinical studies with animal models (spiny mouse, sheep, rhesus macaque) and involves international collaborations across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
Recent publications highlight trends in maternal metabolism, endometrial health, and nutritional interventions. Her 2024–2023 articles focus on creatine metabolism, menstrual fluid composition, and maternal diet quality, reflecting a strong emphasis on translational reproductive science and women’s health.
Scientific Awards:
- 1st Prize Basic Science (2015)
- 3MT (2014)
- 3MT (2013)
- Australian Postgraduate Award (2010)
- Best 3rd year PhD Presentation (2013)
Dr. Ellery has supervised honors students in dietary interventions for menstrual symptoms and is accepting PhD students. She leads and contributes to multiple research projects, including those on endometrial biomarkers and creatine supplementation. Her research is supported by grants such as the GS & YJ Wilson Andrea Joy Logan Trust Fund and internal Monash University funding. She is part of collaborative teams involving clinicians and scientists focused on improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Labs and Research Teams: She is affiliated with The Ritchie Centre at Monash University and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including neonatologists, developmental therapists, biomedical scientists, and analytical chemists.
