Srinivasa Reddy Telukutla

Dr. Srinivasa Reddy Telukutla is a Research Fellow at the Department of Research & Innovation Capability, RMIT University. His work focuses on developing novel medicinal and bio-inorganic chemistry approaches for cancer drug discovery, particularly targeting ovarian, melanoma, prostate, and skin cancers. He specializes in synthesizing bioactive gold, platinum, and ruthenium-based metal complexes as chemo-therapeutics and exploring nanotechnology-driven drug delivery systems, such as dendrimers, cubosomes, and MOFs, to enhance therapeutic efficacy and reduce off-target effects. His research also investigates cannabinoids' anti-cancer properties and their delivery mechanisms, including transdermal systems and nanoformulations.

Dr. Telukutla has supervised 2 completed PhD students and currently oversees 3 ongoing supervisions. His projects include gold-based drugs for ovarian cancer, hyaluronic acid-based nanohydrogels for CBD delivery in melanoma, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing using metal-organic frameworks. He collaborates widely, as evidenced by his multi-authored publications and involvement in interdisciplinary teams.

His research interests span medicinal chemistry, oncology, nanotechnology, and pharmacology, with a strong emphasis on translational drug delivery science and mechanism-based drug design. Key contributions include advancing gold complex therapies through ROS-dependent mechanisms and exploring synergistic cannabinoid combinations with existing cancer treatments.
