Soyoung Kim

Soyoung Kim, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Graduate Director of the PhD Program in Biostatistics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She joined the institution in 2015 and specializes in advanced statistical methodologies for clinical and epidemiological research.

Her education includes a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina (2013), an MS in Statistics from Ewha Womans University (2008), and a BS in Statistics from the same institution (2006). Her research focuses on survival analysis, causal inference, biomarker evaluation, and case-cohort study designs, with particular applications in HIV/AIDS vaccine trials and multivariate failure time data.

Dr. Kim serves as a key statistician on committees including the Primary Immune Deficiency and Infection and Immune Reconstitution in the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). Her work bridges statistical rigor with real-world clinical challenges, emphasizing methodological innovation in clustered data and missing covariate scenarios.

Recent publications highlight her contributions to analyzing outcomes in hematologic malignancies, transplantation biology, and immune-related complications.
