Sourav Bandyopadhyay

Sourav Bandyopadhyay is a Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He serves as Associate Director of the Quantitative Biosciences Institute (QBI) and Coleader of the Molecular Oncology Program. His research focuses on understanding cancer biology through systems-level analysis of biological networks, with emphasis on drug resistance mechanisms in breast and lung cancers.

Research combines functional genomics, proteomics, and computational approaches to identify synthetic lethal interactions and develop personalized cancer therapies. Publications demonstrate consistent focus on cancer signaling networks, drug resistance mechanisms, and host-pathogen interactions. Recent work explores kinase signaling rewiring in hepatocellular carcinoma (2025), FAK-YAP axis in lung cancer persistence (2024), and inflammatory subpopulations in chemotherapy resistance (2024).
