Sotiris Mastoridis

Sotiris Mastoridis is a Clinical Lecturer in General Surgery at the University of Oxford, affiliated with Jesus College. He holds academic appointments in both the Medical Sciences Division and the Department of Surgery. His academic background includes a medical degree from Imperial College London, an NIHR-funded Academic Clinical Fellowship in General Surgery, and a PhD in transplant immunology and extracellular vesicle biology from King’s College London.

Research interests focus on immunological mechanisms governing tolerance and activation post-transplantation, alongside extracellular vesicle biology. He actively contributes to surgical outcomes research, particularly in pancreatic, hepatic, and oncologic surgeries. Mastoridis has published extensively on surgical innovation (e.g., robotic HPB surgery), pandemic-related surgical adaptations, and biomarker discovery in transplantation.

His work integrates clinical practice with translational research, addressing challenges in surgical technique optimization, postoperative complication mitigation, and immunological tolerance in organ transplantation.
