Dr. Christopher Nahm is a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at The University of Sydney and a Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, and General Surgeon at Westmead Hospital. He specializes in pancreatic, liver, and biliary surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques and surgical oncology. His research emphasizes biomarker discovery for pancreatic cancer prognosis, surgical outcomes, and translational medicine. He has authored over 80 publications and serves as Co-Director of the Masters of Surgery and Doctor of Clinical Surgery programs at Sydney.
Education: B.Sc(Med), MBBS(Hons), PhD in pancreatic cancer research from the Kolling Institute. Completed clinical fellowships in HPB surgery at Westmead Hospital and complex liver resections at St James's University Hospital (UK).
Research Interests: Biomarkers in pancreatic and hepatocellular carcinoma, postoperative outcomes after pancreatic/liver surgery, surgical education, and enhanced recovery pathways.
Awards: 2022 Westmead Teaching Medal, multiple scholarships (e.g., Harris Van Beek Scholar), and international best presentation awards. Leads the Westmead Pancreatic Cancer Research Group.
