Soteris Kalogirou

Professor Soteris Kalogirou is affiliated with the Cyprus University of Technology, where he has served since 2017 as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering. With 36 years of academic experience, he has held leadership roles including Department Chair, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, and Vice Rector of Economics, Personnel and Development.

Education:

• PhD in Renewable Energy
• Doctor of Science (DSc) for significant contributions to his field

His research spans renewable energy systems, with a focus on solar energy technologies, thermodynamic modeling, AI applications in energy prediction/fault-finding, geothermal systems, and sustainable energy policy. He founded and directs the Archimedes Solar Energy Laboratory, which houses a large-scale indoor solar simulator.
