Sorin Iliescu

Sorin Iliescu serves as Assistant Professor and Chair of the Fire Science and Emergency Management Department at the University of New Haven's Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, where he leads academic programs in fire science and emergency management.

His educational credentials include:

Dr. Iliescu specializes in fire dynamics, fire protection systems, and hazardous materials management, with emphasis on practical laboratory applications. His research focuses on fire behavior analysis, suppression systems engineering, and fire safety protocols for complex structures.

He has significantly contributed to campus infrastructure through the development of specialized laboratories including the Fire Dynamics Lab, Fire Detection and Control Lab, and Automatic Fire Suppression Lab.

As an educator, Dr. Iliescu teaches core courses spanning fire chemistry, hydraulics, hazardous materials, and fire protection engineering across undergraduate and graduate programs.
