معرفی
Sophie Dubosc is a Doctoral student at the ERIAC research unit (UMR 4705) within the UFR Letters and Human Sciences of the University of Rouen Normandy and concurrently serves as a Professor of Art Education at the Le Havre-Rouen School of Art and Design (ESADHAR) since 2011. Her dual role bridges academic scholarship and professional artistic practice within the French higher education ecosystem.
Her educational foundation includes a graduate degree from the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, Paris (2002), a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Art History from the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne (1998), and training from the Ecole du Louvre (1997). This tripartite background in studio practice, art historical theory, and museology informs her interdisciplinary methodology.
Dubosc's research and artistic practice centers on visual arts with specialized focus on sculpture and installation. Her work critically engages with public space, community dynamics, and social vulnerability through site-specific interventions, as evidenced by residencies at the Georges Daumézon Departmental Hospital for Mental Health (2011) and Beirut Art Residency (2018). She systematically explores intersections of memory, identity, and spatial politics using participatory frameworks that challenge institutional boundaries and conventional artistic production.
Her publication trajectory across fifteen years reveals evolving thematic concerns from early explorations of personal narrative ("Adieu Berthe", 2010) to contemporary investigations of transnational communities ("Country neighbors", 2024), consistently demonstrating how sculptural and installation practices serve as vehicles for social dialogue and cultural critique within European and global contexts.
Dubosc maintains significant academic service through jury duties for national art diplomas including DNSEP evaluations at Toulouse Institute of Arts and Design (2024), Bordeaux School of Fine Arts (2024), and European School of Art of Brittany (2019), reflecting her standing within France's national art education infrastructure.
As an ERIAC research unit member, she contributes to interdisciplinary scholarship structured around four axes: Spaces/Cultures/Politics; Forms/Experiences/Interpretations; Philosophy in the City; and Linguistic/Didactic Approaches, situating her artistic research within broader theoretical frameworks examining cultural production and societal transformation.
