Sophie Botte is an Associate Professor in Management at SKEMA Business School, where she also serves as Associate Dean for Specialized Masters Programs. She has been with SKEMA since 2001, holding various leadership positions including Director of Faculty Development (2011-2015) and Head of the Management Department (2009-2010). Her academic work focuses on leadership and organizational transformation, particularly in the context of Executive Education.
Dr. Botte earned her Doctorate in Human Resource Economics from the University of Lille in 2000, following a DEA in Industrial and Human Resource Economics (1995) and a Master's in Economics and Finance from Sciences Po Lille (1994). Before joining SKEMA, she worked as a Consultant at La Poste's Quality Directorate (2000-2001) and as a Lecturer at the University of Lille (1998-2000).
Her research interests center on leadership, organizational transformation, and work organization, with particular attention to psychosocial risks, quality of service, and mentorship. Dr. Botte has developed and managed numerous programs for business executives and senior managers, bridging academic research with practical applications in corporate settings.
Analysis of Dr. Botte's recent publications (2016-2020) reveals a strong focus on disruption in management practices, particularly regarding mentorship, organizational transformation, and the liberated company concept. Her work increasingly examines how emotional intelligence and leadership intersect, especially in the context of women's advancement in organizations. She frequently collaborates with Stephanie Chasserio on topics related to organizational change and psychosocial risks.
Dr. Botte is actively involved in professional organizations including SCOS (Standing Conference on Organizational Symbolism) and AGRH (Association Internationale de Gestion des Ressources Humaines), where she has contributed to discussions on work organization and human resource management.
She has developed and managed numerous executive education programs at SKEMA, working closely with corporate partners like Engie (on the Calista method for change management) and Wordline (on mentorship programs).
