Sophia Gilbukh is an Assistant Professor in the William Newman Department of Real Estate at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College (CUNY). She holds a PhD in Economics from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS in Mathematics from Haverford College. Her research focuses on housing market dynamics, real estate agent behavior, and policy impacts on homeownership.

Her work explores topics such as search frictions in housing markets, principal-agent problems in real estate transactions, and macroprudential applications of housing price-to-rent ratios. Recent studies analyze FHA/VA program exclusion in housing markets, agent network effects, and customer capital accumulation in pricing models. Her research has received grants from the PSC CUNY and Eugene Lang Fellowship.
