Dr. Sophia Bruggeman is an Assistant Professor and Rosalind Franklin Fellow at UMCG's European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing. Her research investigates epigenetic mechanisms in pediatric brain cancers, focusing on how neurodevelopmental processes influence tumorigenesis.
Research focuses on:
- Medulloblastoma pathogenesis
- Oncohistone-mediated genomic instability
- Metabolic reprogramming in gliomas
- Developmental origins of brain tumors
