Soo Yeon Hong is an Associate Teaching Professor and Director of the Public Relations Graduate Program at The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University. She specializes in teaching introductory graphic design, social media, visual communications theory, and multimedia storytelling to undergraduate, graduate, and military students. Her interdisciplinary background includes a Ph.D. in mass communications from Newhouse, an M.F.A. in creative writing-fiction from Boston University, and professional experience as a marketer, graphic designer, and editorial assistant.

Research & Expertise: Blends visual communication design, creative writing, and public relations. Focuses on integrating diverse creative disciplines into media education. Former roles include graphic design at Time and Health magazines, and marketing at LG.
