Erik Forrest Jackson is an Adjunct Professor at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, specializing in playwriting, musical bookwriting, and creative writing. He is an award-winning playwright, musical bookwriter, and novelist with extensive experience in media, including executive editing at Entertainment Weekly and on-air roles at BBC America, ABC, and CNN.
- Member of the Dramatists Guild and American Theatre Wing’s Advisory Board
- Voter for the Bram Stoker Awards and Tony Awards
- Recipient of residency grants/fellowships at Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, Monson Arts, Chulitna Lodge Research Institute, and Johnny Mercer Writers Grove
His research interests span media communications, creative writing, musical theater, and horror literature. Notably, he authored the critically acclaimed humor series Muppets Meet the Classics (Disney/Penguin) and is currently developing an original horror fiction debut.
