Jessica Hagedorn is a Filipino-American novelist, poet, playwright, and screenwriter, currently serving as the Parsons Family University Professor of Creative Writing and Director of the MFA Writing Program at Long Island University Brooklyn Campus. Her literary work spans novels like Dogeaters (American Book Award winner, National Book Award finalist), poetry-prose collections, and editing anthologies such as Charlie Chan Is Dead. She has taught at prestigious institutions including Yale School of Drama, NYU, and Columbia University.
