Sonya Mishra is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business. She holds a PhD from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and has prior experience in investment banking and consulting. Her research focuses on gender inequality, power dynamics, and workplace diversity, with a particular emphasis on how hierarchies impact underrepresented groups. She has received the Apgar Award for her innovative teaching of the Leading Diverse Organizations course.
Education: PhD (2023) and MS (2020) from UC Berkeley, BS in Finance (2015) from Georgetown University.
Research highlights include studies on men’s perceptions of gender equity, diversity deflation in teams, and the consequences of precarious manhood in workplace interactions. She consults with global firms on DEI strategies and has authored/co-authored multiple peer-reviewed papers in top journals like Psychological Science and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.
Teaching: Developed and teaches the award-winning MBA course Leading Diverse Organizations, with high student ratings (5.94/6).
