Sonia Price

Sonia Price serves as Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Arts and Health at Canterbury Christ Church University within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health. She has taught at the institution since 2012, currently leading the Arts in Health module for the MSc Mental Health & Wellbeing program and Music for Wellbeing for the BA Music degree while supervising MSc Health Care Practice students.

Her research centers on validating arts interventions in healthcare settings and integrating arts-health methodologies into academic curricula through the Sidney De Haan Research Centre. Clinical expertise spans acute medical nursing, emergency care, palliative services, and sixteen years specializing in respiratory practice nursing. This dual clinical-academic foundation drives her investigation into non-pharmacological wellbeing approaches.

Price actively mentors graduate students in the Health Care Practice program and contributes to the Sidney De Haan Research Centre's mission of advancing evidence-based arts-health applications. Her work bridges clinical nursing practice with creative therapeutic modalities, particularly focusing on music's role in mental health contexts.
