معرفی
Associate Professor Sonia Liu is an academic in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Sydney, specializing in poultry nutrition with a focus on sustainable and efficient production systems. She holds affiliations with the China Studies Centre, Sydney Institute of Agriculture, Sydney Southeast Asia Centre, and the Charles Perkins Centre.
Her research addresses global challenges in food security, environmental sustainability, and poultry production efficiency. Key projects include developing nutritional strategies for reduced-protein diets, evaluating feed grains under climatic variations, and optimizing trace mineral supplementation. Liu has been awarded prestigious grants including the ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2019) and the Australian Science and Innovation Award (2015).
Recent work focuses on dietary amino acid profiles, feed grain quality under climate change, and alternative protein sources like canola. Her collaborations span Australia, the USA, Europe, China, and Southeast Asia. She leads projects funded by industry and government, including initiatives to improve poultry resilience in tropical climates and reduce phosphorus/nitrogen excretion through enhanced phytase use.
Liu's publications emphasize starch-protein digestive dynamics, feed efficiency, and sustainable practices. Her research bridges laboratory findings with industry applications, aiming to balance productivity with ecological impact.
