Her academic contributions include the forthcoming book Empire of Print: Evangelical Power in an Age of Mass Media (Oxford UP, 2025) and the manuscript Makers of the Sensible, exploring the American Tract Society’s role in shaping religious discourse. Notable articles analyze Cherokee printers’ use of Christian tracts during removal crises and Mormon origins through material sacred objects.
Hazard’s awards include the Fredson Bowers Memorial Award and the Pollock Award. She has guest-edited special issues on material texts and religion for Textual Cultures and Material Religion. Her work bridges archival research with theoretical frameworks in material culture and media studies.
