Soni Lacefield is a Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Dartmouth College, affiliated with the Molecular & Cellular Biology department. Her research focuses on meiotic cell cycle regulation and chromosome segregation in budding yeast and mouse oogenesis, employing live cell imaging, cell biology, biochemistry, and genetics.
Research Interests: Her work examines checkpoint mechanisms that monitor cell cycle events, kinetochore-microtubule attachments, and regulatory processes governing meiotic divisions to ensure accurate chromosome segregation. These studies bridge fundamental cellular biology with implications for reproductive health and genetics.
