Soner DURSUN serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Beykent University. His academic career demonstrates a strong commitment to Turkish historical studies, with particular emphasis on political history and the development of modern Turkey.
His research interests focus on Turkish political history, examining military interventions, nationalist movements, Turkish foreign policy (particularly regarding NATO), and the transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey. His scholarly work explores the complex interplay between military and civilian power structures throughout Turkish history, analyzing coups d'etat, political transitions, and the evolution of Turkish democracy.
DURSUN's publications reveal a consistent research trajectory examining pivotal moments in Turkish history. His works demonstrate expertise in analyzing military coups across different eras, nationalist political movements, Turkish foreign policy development, and the foundational period of the Turkish Republic.
