Somnath Singh

Somnath Singh is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Sciences at Creighton University’s School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. He holds a BPharm, MPharm, and PhD in Pharmaceutics. His research focuses on drug delivery systems, protein stability, skin toxicity, and gasotransmitter therapeutics. He has received multiple Educator of the Year awards from pharmacy students and holds grants from organizations like Health Future Foundation and the President’s Faculty Research Fund.

Research Interests: Dr. Singh’s work spans controlled release formulations, smart polymers, hydrogen sulfide delivery, ocular therapeutics, and skin barrier studies. He emphasizes translational research to address challenges in protein stability and drug delivery, particularly for peptides, proteins, and gasotransmitters like hydrogen sulfide. Recent projects include developing in situ gelling systems for glaucoma treatments and investigating the role of H2S in neurodegenerative diseases.

Grants & Awards: Over 15 grants funded, including projects on hydrogen sulfide ocular delivery, smart polymer systems, and jet fuel toxicity. His awards highlight teaching excellence, with recognition from multiple pharmacy classes.

Professional Activities: Member of AAPS, Controlled Release Society, and AACP. Authored books on pharmaceutics and over 50 peer-reviewed articles. Active in conferences, presenting on topics like nanoparticle drug delivery and melanoma prevention using polyphenols.
