Solange Ploeg is a Lecturer and PhD candidate at Radboud University's Political History department. Her doctoral research, part of 'The Voice of the People' project led by Prof. Harm Kaal, examines how media landscape changes and new media practices influenced democratic concepts in the Netherlands (1945-1980s). She holds a BA and MPhil in History from Leiden University with a focus on 'Politics, Culture and National Identities, 1789-present', and studied at the University of St. Andrews.
Her research explores Western European political culture, rhetoric, protest, media monarchies, and science-politics relationships. She coordinates the Masters programme Politiek & Parlement and previously coordinated the 'Patterns of Political Interaction' research group (2021-2024). In 2022, she was a guest researcher at Lund University's Media History department.
