Sofia Lundberg is a Professor of Economics at the Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics (USBE), Umeå University. Her research focuses on public procurement mechanisms, environmental policy implementation, consumer behavior, and healthcare economics. She previously served as Dean of USBE from 2015 to 2023, driving AACSB accreditation and sustainability initiatives. Her work emphasizes green public procurement's role in sustainability, competition policy, and privatization effects in elderly care.
Education: PhD in Economics from Umeå University (2001). Research spans over 50 publications, including studies on auction design, regulatory impact, and policy effectiveness. Key projects include leading Umeå's Plant Science for Sustainable Green Transformation initiative and co-authoring the SNS Economic Policy Council Report 2022. External roles include AACSB mentorship and Swedish Competition Authority research advisory.
