Associate Professor Sofia Kesidou is affiliated with the School of Education at The University of Sydney, based in the Education Building (A35). Her work focuses on international educational assessment practices, particularly in resource-constrained contexts.
Her research centers on formative assessment in primary education across Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, with expertise in science education assessment and cross-cultural measurement validation. She co-organized the 2023 Sydney Educational Measurement and Assessment Symposium (EdMeas23), reflecting her leadership in assessment methodology.
Current supervision includes two doctoral projects: Georgina Ngalme Peniel NGALME PENIEL's comparative study of formative assessment in Papua New Guinea's Hela and Southern Highlands Provinces, and Rhischa SHILLA's adaptation of physics reasoning tests for Indonesia's Minimum Competency Assessment. Her recent editorial work in Education Sciences demonstrates active contribution to assessment symposia literature.
