Sneha Bhat, M.D., FACS, CNSC, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Burn, Trauma, Acute & Critical Care Surgery at UT Southwestern. She serves as Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency, Surgical ICU Fellowship Site Director at Clements University Hospital, and Director of Elective General Surgery at Parkland Hospital. Her expertise includes complex hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction.
Dr. Bhat earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, completed general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, and pursued surgical trauma/critical care fellowship at UT Southwestern.
Her research focuses on surgical education, critical care nutrition, and mental health among academic surgeons. She actively leads national organizations including EAST, AAST, APDS, and ACS.
Key awards include the Scott B. Frame Trauma Scholarship (2015), Academy of Scholars Resident Award (2017), and dual teaching awards in 2018 recognizing her educational contributions.
