Slobodan Gerić serves as Dean and Professor in the artistic field of Double Bass at the Faculty of Music, University of Belgrade, where he holds a full-time position in the String Instruments Department.
His academic foundation includes:
- Graduate, Master's, and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Music, Belgrade under Prof. Nebojša Ignjatović
- Advanced training with Prof. Ludwig Streicher (Vienna) and Francesco Petracchi (Italy)
As a performer, Gerić specializes in double bass artistry across multiple domains:
- Solo performances with Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Niš Symphony Orchestra, Klagenfurt Symphony Orchestra, and other major ensembles
- Chamber music collaborations through Saint George Strings, Camerata Serbica, Balkan Chamber Academy, and Ensemble for Other New Music
- Ethno-jazz fusion with "Ognjen and Friends" ensemble
His distinguished career has earned significant recognition:
- Concert of the Year 2007 from the Association of Musical Artists of Serbia
- Dual October Awards from the City of Belgrade (1984 student achievement, 1991 with Dušan Skovran)
- Concert of the Year 2006 with Saint Georges Strings
- Multiple national competition first prizes
Gerić maintains an active international performance schedule across USA, China, Russia, Germany, UK, Belgium, Sweden, France and Spain while mentoring students who achieve prominent careers globally. His leadership extends through ensemble affiliations including Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra (1994-2007) and Belgrade String Orchestra "Dušan Skovran" (1985-1992).
