Siyuan (Steven) Wang, an Associate Professor at Yale University's School of Medicine, holds dual appointments in Genetics and Cell Biology. His research focuses on 3D genomics, spatial multi-omics, and chromatin architecture. He pioneered the 'chromatin tracing' method and developed the MINA platform for nucleome imaging. Key contributions include studies on X chromosome folding, cancer genome evolution, and aging mechanisms.
Education: B.Sc. in Physics from Peking University (2007), Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University (2011), postdoctoral training at Harvard University (2011–2017). His lab integrates imaging, genetics, and computational tools to dissect genome organization in health and disease.
Research highlights include resolving single-cell 3D genome maps in cancer, discovering regulators of chromatin architecture via Perturb-tracing, and mapping senescent cell dynamics in aging tissues. Awards include the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award (2019–2024) and ASCB Innovation in Research Award (2024).
Labs/Teams: Directs the Siyuan Wang Lab at Yale, collaborating with institutions like the NIH SenNet Consortium. Ongoing work explores spatial transcriptomics and functional regulators of chromatin in disease contexts.
