Professor Siyami Karahan is affiliated with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Basic Sciences of Veterinary Medicine. His research spans veterinary histology, tissue engineering, and biomaterials, with a focus on stem cell therapy, wound healing, and nanotechnology applications.
Research Trends (2017-2025)
His recent work (2025) explores amino acid-modified bioglasses for bone regeneration, while 2024 publications examine plant-based nanofiber scaffolds (Centella asiatica, Cotinus coggygria), platelet-rich therapies for cartilage repair, and bilayer wound dressings combining polymers with natural compounds.
Earlier studies investigate stem cell applications in testicular torsion and pulmonary contusion (2022), melamine/cyanuric acid toxicity (2020), and collagen scaffolds for meniscus repair (2019). His career includes research on antioxidant expression in bovine oviduct cells (2019), canine distemper virus effects (2004-2008), and pesticide toxicity in rainbow trout (2006).
