Sivert Angel is Professor of Church History and Practical Theology at University of Oslo's Faculty of Theology, specializing in Reformation studies, Lutheran homiletics, and Nordic church history. Holds Cand.theol (1998) and PhD (2011) from University of Oslo.
Research analyzes Lutheran preaching traditions including funeral sermons, resurrection rhetoric, and contemporary applications like refugee crisis responses. Examines textual transmission of Jerusalem motifs in Scandinavian Reformation contexts.
Participates in international projects including 'Tracing the Jerusalem Code' and refugee crisis preaching initiatives. Former President of Practical-Theological Seminary (2014-2016).
