Ole Vinther

Ole Vinther is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Theology. His research focuses on Church history, practical theology, and the role of Christian preaching in late antique Greco-Roman contexts. He specializes in the works of Gregory of Nazianzus and explores themes of meaning-making, cultural worldview, and homiletical strategies. Vinther holds a Master’s in Practical Theology (University of Oslo) and a Master’s in Strategic Management and Economics (University of Tromsø). He served as a pastor in Norway and Denmark from 2009–2024.

His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary theological practice, emphasizing the societal function of preaching. He contributes to the Biblical Texts, Cultures and Receptions research group.
