Dr. Parida earned his Ph.D. in Finance from the London School of Economics in 2012. His academic background is rooted in finance with a focus on empirical research in financial markets and fund management.
His research interests are centered on understanding the dynamics of mutual fund operations, including strategic trading practices, the impact of regulatory policies, and investor behavior in response to environmental and social factors. He explores topics such as the cost of misclassification in mutual funds, the influence of climate activism on fund flows, and the performance of sustainable and circular economy-focused funds. His work also examines competition within the mutual fund industry, fee transparency, and the effects of financial crises on socially responsible investments.
His recent work analyzes the evolving landscape of mutual funds, particularly in the context of sustainability, climate policy, and regulatory changes. He has explored how investor behavior shifts in response to environmental activism and policy changes, as well as the operational challenges and opportunities in the circular economy sector. Earlier research investigated fund performance under varying disclosure regimes and competitive pressures in the financial sector.
Dr. Parida has secured grants including the Faculty Development Fund-supported project Do Sustainable Mutual Funds Fare Better? (2022–2023) and a study on housing prices in the greater Boston area post-COVID-19. His work often bridges theoretical finance with practical implications for policy and investment strategies.
