Siqi Lyu is a Research Fellow in Psychology of Language at the University of Tartu's Institute of Psychology (Faculty of Social Sciences). She has held continuous academic roles there since 2021, including visiting and experimental psychology positions. Lyu earned her PhD from Beihang University in 2020, researching Chinese concessive structures, and holds an MA from the same institution (2014).
Her research focuses on language processing, cross-cultural psychology, and experimental psychology, with emphasis on speech perception, prosody, and bilingualism. Recent work explores native language effects on foreign language perception, musical expertise influencing pitch/duration perception, and implicit promise interpretation in discourse.
Notable grants include the Dora Plus Grant (2019) and Fulbright Scholarship (2016). She supervises doctoral and master's students in language perception studies. Current project (2024-2028) investigates native language experience's impact on foreign language learning and perception.
Publications span journals like Brain and Language, Acta Psychologica, and Frontiers in Psychology, with conference presentations at AMLaP and ICON. Her work bridges cognitive science, linguistics, and experimental methods.
