She specializes in experimental research on cognitive processes, utilizing behavioral and bioelectrical measures such as mismatch negativity (MMN). Her work focuses on emotion processing, time perception, and the interplay between environmental factors and mental health. Kreegipuu holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Tartu (2004) and has received notable awards including the University of Tartu Medal (2022) and membership in AcademiaNet (2020).
Research Interests: Her research explores experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and psychophysiology. Key areas include the neural mechanisms of emotional perception, automatic processing of sensory stimuli, and the effects of stress and fatigue on cognitive functions. She also investigates the impact of language and musical expertise on auditory perception.
Grants & Projects: Kreegipuu coordinates the 'Mind and Emotion' sub-cluster within the Estonian Centre of Excellence in Mental Health Research (2024–2030). She has led projects on fatigue measurement, visual mismatch negativity, and the effects of ayahuasca use on mental health.
Publications: Over 75 peer-reviewed articles, including studies on MMN responses, emotion processing, and cross-linguistic auditory perception. Recent work addresses developmental language disorders and the neural bases of emotional expression recognition.
