Dr Siobhan Daly is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Northumbria University, specializing in philanthropy and voluntary sector studies. She leads research on philanthropy's evolution, volunteer experiences, and innovative methodologies. Her work includes grants from the Leverhulme Trust and British Academy, and she contributed to the EU Horizon 2020 COGOV project. She has held roles such as Head of Subject and Impact Lead, emphasizing interdisciplinary research.
Education: PhD in Politics (1999), Teaching & Learning PCAPL (2005), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, 2008).
Research Interests: Philanthropy's conceptual development, volunteer leadership, and the impact of austerity on public spaces. Recent studies include post-pandemic philanthropy and trustee recruitment challenges in charities.
Grants & Projects: Principal Investigator for Leverhulme Trust (2017-18) and British Academy grants (2016-18, 2007-08). Co-led the COGOV project on co-governance in European public agencies.
