Katy Jenkins is a Professor in Global Development at Northumbria University. As an interdisciplinary feminist scholar, her work focuses on gender and development, women’s activism and volunteering, and gendered impacts of large-scale resource extraction. She collaborates extensively with development NGOs and grassroots organizations, particularly in Latin America.

- Current Projects: RECLAMA: Harnessing Afro-Ecuadorian Women's Heritage (BA/GCRF funded), participatory photography with women anti-mining activists
- Education: PhD in Geography, MA in Geography, BA (Hons) in Hispanic Studies
Katy's recent publications explore visual methodologies in anti-extractivism, care responsibilities in academia, and Black feminist political ecology. She supervises postgraduate researchers and co-directs the Centre for Global Development.
