Dr. Sinead Sturgeon is a Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast's School of Arts, English and Languages, specializing in nineteenth-century Irish literature and culture. Her research explores Gothic tropes, Irish Romanticism, and the works of James Clarence Mangan, with additional publications on Irish music symbology and recreational culture.
She teaches Contemporary Irish Writing, Irish Literature, Irish Gothic, and Irish Women's Writing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and welcomes PhD applications in nineteenth-century Irish studies.
Awards include the British Association for Irish Studies Postgraduate Essay Prize and STAR staff recognition for outstanding contributions.
