Sinead Ouillon is a Programme Leader at Coventry University’s Research Centre for Peace and Security and founder of FabLab Coventry and CityLab Coventry. She holds a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). Her roles include Director of Research Development and Innovation, leading projects focused on social innovation, circular economy, and civic engagement through urban living labs. She oversees the Citizen Social Science Programme and collaborates with Coventry City Council on health equity initiatives. Ouillon has secured over £30 million in funding from Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and Urban Innovation Actions, emphasizing marginalized communities' inclusion.
Research interests span social innovation ecosystems, gender-responsive urban development, and migration studies. She co-created FabLab Coventry, a STEAM-driven community hub fostering inclusive innovation. Her work bridges academic research with policy implementation through participatory methodologies, training over 120 citizen researchers. Key projects include BRIEFCASE (mineral education tools), Crowd4Roads (citizen-driven infrastructure monitoring), and NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaboration.
Ouillon’s publications address topics like gender biases in entrepreneurship, refugee health access, and living lab evaluation frameworks. She advises early-career researchers on bid development and knowledge transfer partnerships. Her contributions extend to policy reports and European innovation networks, advancing community-led solutions to urban challenges.
