Sine Agergaard is a Professor and Research Group Leader at Aalborg University's Department of Medicine and Health Technology within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Her work focuses on promoting well-being among children and young people in Denmark through sports and physical activity initiatives.
She earned her PhD from Aarhus University in 2004 and completed university pedagogy training for assistant professors between 2004-2007. Currently, she serves as Review Editor for Frontiers in Public Health, Editorial Board Member for European Physical Education Review and Sociology of Sport Journal, and Chair of the International Network for Research in Sport and Migration Issues.
Her research expertise centers on inclusion of migrant and refugee groups into sporting communities, with significant contributions to policies and programs promoting healthy living and well-being. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to well-being of children and youth.
