Noemi Katznelson is a Professor at the Department of Culture and Learning at Aalborg University, Denmark. She is affiliated with the Centre for Youth Research (CeFU) and holds a prominent role in Danish academic circles, having received The Order of the Dannebrog in 2019. Her research focuses on youth studies, education policy, and mental health, with a particular emphasis on student motivation, vocational education, and societal impacts.
Her academic contributions include over 112 publications and 31 research projects, many of which explore youth well-being, educational challenges, and societal integration. Notable projects include Bedre trivsel for unge på FGU (improving well-being in vocational training) and Hvordan giver det mening at være ung på EUD? (meaning of youth in educational programs). She has also contributed to policy discussions on alternative assessment methods and feedback mechanisms in schools.
Katznelson’s work extends beyond academia through media engagements and board memberships, such as her role in the Videnscenter for FGU. Her research highlights the interplay between educational systems, societal expectations, and youth resilience, offering critical insights into contemporary challenges faced by young people in Denmark and beyond.
