Simone Ries

Professor Simone Ries serves as Professor of Nursing Science at Evangelische Hochschule Ludwigsburg, where she has been an academic staff member since March 2016. She holds multiple leadership roles including membership in the Staff Council (MAV) with focus on occupational health promotion and internationalization efforts in nursing science. Her teaching spans multiple bachelor's and master's programs including Nursing, Social Work, and International Social Work.

Ries specializes in nursing education research with emphasis on competency assessment, occupational health for nursing educators, burnout prevention, complementary medicine applications, and innovative teaching methods including simulation learning (Skills Lab). Her research integrates phenomenological approaches and participatory health research methodologies. She has developed specialized curricula in palliative and spiritual care (SpECi) and complementary methods within nursing practice.

Ries directs the Nursing Skills Laboratory at EH Ludwigsburg, pioneering simulation-based learning environments documented in multiple YouTube presentations. Her research output demonstrates consistent focus on practical nursing competency assessment and aromatherapy applications in clinical settings. She actively participates in national and international nursing education conferences, presenting on topics ranging from large-scale competency assessment to participatory knowledge transfer in skills laboratories.

Her educational background includes a Doctorate in Nursing Science (Dr. rer. cur.), Master of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare and Social Management. Professional qualifications span nursing education, aromatherapy certification, and specialized training in nursing pedagogy. She maintains active membership in the German Society for Nursing Science and Forum Essenzia e.V. for scientific dissemination of aromatherapy in nursing.
