Stephanie Goeke

Prof. Dr. Stephanie Goeke is a Professor for Theory and Practice of Social Work/Practice Research in Social Work at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Ludwigsburg (EH Ludwigsburg). She teaches in the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Social Work and the Bachelor's program in Inclusive Education and Special Education. Her office is located in Building C, Room C 1.05, with online consultation hours on Thursdays from 8-9 AM.

Prof. Goeke earned her PhD in 2009 from the Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg with a dissertation on "Individual Empowerment Processes of Women with Disability Experience. A Study in the Style of Grounded Theory." She completed her undergraduate studies in Pedagogy with a focus on Special Education at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (1993-1998).

Her research focuses on three interconnected areas: the participation of people with disabilities in research processes, women with disabilities, and inclusion/deinstitutionalization.

Prof. Goeke has led and contributed to multiple research projects examining inclusion and deinstitutionalization:

• 2012-2014: Resident and staff surveys on inclusion and decentralization in Stetten and Schorndorf
• 2011: Resident surveys at Sonnenhof in Schwäbisch Hall
• 2010-2011: Mitarbeiter*innen- and resident surveys for Zukunftswerkstatt in Heilbronn
• 2005-2008: Scientific support for "Leben im Ort" project at EH Ludwigsburg

Since 2007, she has maintained a parallel career in research, project consulting, and teaching across multiple institutions including DHBW Stuttgart, DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen, and PH Ludwigsburg-Reutlingen.

Prof. Goeke is currently active in advocacy as a member of the IPAGs-Beirat (Interessenvertretung Psychiatrieerfahrener und Angehöriger im Gemeindepsychiatrischen Verbund stärken), demonstrating her ongoing commitment to representation for marginalized groups. Her recent lecture activities (2021-2024) include international conferences on SDGs and workshops on political representation for people with disability experience.
