Simone M.J. de Jong is a Researcher in the Department of Biomedical Materials and Chemistry at the Biomedical Engineering School of Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. Her research focuses on biomaterial design for regenerative medicine applications, including cardiac tissue engineering, kidney organoid maturation, and vascular graft functionalization. She holds a Master’s degree from TU Eindhoven, where her thesis explored Notch ligand integration into supramolecular biomaterials under Prof. Dankers and Dr. Putti’s supervision.
Her work combines advanced biomaterials with biological systems to enhance tissue regeneration outcomes. Recent studies include hybrid hydrogel systems for heart repair and heparin/IL-4 functionalized vascular grafts in rat models. Collaborations span disciplines like immunology and stem cell biology, with notable contributions to supramolecular platforms for bioactive protein delivery.
Publications highlight her expertise in biomaterial-driven organoid maturation, macrophage polarization modulation, and functional surface engineering. Though no specific awards are listed, her work has garnered significant citations and readership across platforms like Mendeley and Scopus.
